This young athlete maintains considerable online following
The young golfer can count on plenty of well-known backers as she begins her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to participate at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns multiple international courses and often plays against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we play some close matches," she mentioned.
She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, told her: "Just don't get nervous."
"My grandpa practically suggested to compete and enjoy myself," she added.
"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He can't make it for the tournament. He's busy with presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has played in just three tournaments this year and maintains the 461st position in AJGA standings.
But she's able to seek guidance from 15-time major champion, who is dating her mother.
"He is the greatest golfer globally," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's a superior individual. He told me to compete, have fun, and go with the flow."
She'll challenge several most prominent players in women's golf at the competition, such as second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that involving Kai helps introduce the sport to different demographics, especially with youth audiences.
Kai boasts a massive following and has started an exclusive fashion and living label.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
