Fantastic $30 Cartography Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop Game Master's Fantasy

Following a brief run back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back for a limited time available until Dec. 2. Hailed as an extensive collection of mapping tools developed by a specialized software company over the years, the complete package is valued at more than thirteen hundred dollars. And there are three different bundles available here.

The Main Attraction

The standout feature is certainly a lifetime license to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard cartography program which enables users to create everything from fantasy overworld maps, detailed regional charts, city maps, and, perhaps most importantly, tactical combat environments.

An imaginative landscape chart created using the CC3+ software platform.

Package Levels

Basic Package

The most affordable option, starting at just one dollar, features merely four of the 39 total items: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Castle Source Maps, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens for use in virtual tabletops, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 is where things get more interesting by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the annual collection from the company's ongoing subscription program featuring multiple CC3+ enhancements including map packs and various other tools. Isometric Cities lets you display cities with an extra dimension with isometric views from all sides. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

Full Package

For a minimum of $30, the comprehensive package contains these components:

  • Advanced Terrain Generator
  • Dungeon Creation Tool
  • Urban Planning Software
  • Cosmic Mapping System
  • Perspectives 3
  • Scene Builder
  • Character Design Module
  • Fantasy Interior Symbols
  • Contemporary Design Pack
  • Schley Dungeon Collection
  • Symbol Set 5: Cities of Schley
  • Token Treasury: Monsters 2
  • Source Maps: Temples, Tombs and Catacombs
  • World War 2 Interactive Atlas

  • Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities
  • Comprehensive Mapping Guide
  • Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland
  • Token Treasury: Monsters 1
  • Source Maps: Castles!
  • Source Maps: Cities!

All 17 volumes of Cartographer's Annual come with this bundle, plus numerous additional tools and content enabling creators to craft complete solar systems, or just go all-in on classic fantasy realm creation: battle maps, underground complexes, cities, and continents in multiple viewpoints. You can even design character illustrations. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the complete collection offers tremendous value, especially for cartographers with temporary CC3+ access seeking permanent licensing. However, it's clearly an even better deal for map-making newbies since it includes introductory guides to facilitate learning. The one caveat here though the purchase is available across platforms, the software is only usable with Windows systems.

Charitable Component

As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, the beneficiary is Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response. The Bundle Filters option is toward the top of the page, though users may also choose any amount for a donation in the right-hand section. Additionally available is an "Adjust Donation" drop-down immediately below, allowing you to adjust how much of your donation goes to Humble, Profantasy, and Save the Children.
