Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

David Walliams

Acclaimed writer for children and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
