Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded on Thursday, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, its skilled cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers achieved 7 awards during the show.
Additional major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. It is important to note, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only 4 awards—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by critics.
