Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the sports world had expressed condolences for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
