American-Palestinian Youth Freed Following 270 Days in Israel's Detention

An American-Palestinian adolescent who spent 270 days in imprisonment by Israel absent formal charges gained freedom.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested this past winter in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.
The US state department said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.
Currently aged sixteen, needed medical care for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.
Family described him as visibly pale and thin, while battling health issues contracted in captivity.
Via family representatives, family spokesperson expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.
"Right now, our priority is getting Mohammed urgent medical care he requires following exposure to harsh conditions and inhumane conditions for months."
US officials announced ongoing to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.
{"American leadership gives utmost importance to the protection and welfare of US citizens"," officials stated.
A group of American legislators endorsed a document to the state department and the White House, demanding more be done to release him.
Mohammed's parent, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop based in Tampa, previously said Mohammed acknowledged allegations to throwing stones due to physical abuse.
He had not seen nor direct contact following the detention, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition in detention through court documents.
The teenager remained absent formal charges in Ofer prison on the West Bank.
The facility also contains mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities and murder.
An estimated several hundred young Palestinian detainees detained within Israeli facilities, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Several lack formal charges and human rights groups, and international organizations, say some have suffered physical abuse and torture.
